Contributing artists: Kat Rohrer

Filmmaker KAT ROHRER, a native of Vienna, Austria, was captivated by film from an early age. Inspired by directors like Franco Zeferelli and Robert Altman, she developed a love of working with actors from being exposed to their environment in the Austrian and German theatre community.

She founded Green Kat Productions in 2002 with her business partner Tom Greeman. Based in New York City, they have produced and Rohrer has directed a vast array of short films, music videos, PSAs and commercials. Her short film "The Search" was nominated for an award by the Director’s Guild of America in the category Young Directors, and was also voted Best Short Film at the 2005 LA Femme Film Festival.

Her latest film, the feature length documentary "Fatal Promises" provides a comprehensive look at the realities of human trafficking versus the rhetoric of politicians and pundits who claim to be making significant strides in combating this horrific crime. The film was a labor of love for Rohrer and an attempt to make a difference the only way she knows how -- through film.
